Thanks to its intuitive and easy-to-use interface, customers get immediate access on their mobile phone to all the key information about your business and are able to contact you with just one click or touch.

  There are 4 billion mobile phones in active use worldwide: 4 times more than PCs. In 2009, mobile web usage increased 148% globally (Source: Quantcast) and the numbers continue to rise.   You can easily use the Setup Assistant at any time to make all the changes you want. There is no extra charge, so feel free to experiment and find the best way for you to use GetGoMobi to grow your business.

Even before your first use of the Setup Assistant, GetGoMobi is at work to make the process fast and easy. GetGoMobi offers a unique feature, with its underlying technology, allowing the pre-populating some of your content such as your telephone number for ‘Call Us’. Making any changes to pre-selected content is very easy. The Setup Assistant is highly intuitive and will guide you through each feature you want to include.

Domain Name questions - you can use any domain name!

• Does GetGoMobi require a .mobi domain name?

  A .mobi domain name DOES have some important advantages - read more in the Top Five Reasons for .MOBI.

  That said, GetGoMobi does not require a .mobi domain name. In the case of a free trial, we will take the domain name you place in the order form and create domain.getGetGoMobi.com, so that there are no domain costs incurred by the customer. It is recommended to use a .mobi domain for a mobile website eventually, to communicate to the end user that the site is mobile friendly, and to assist search engines to recognize it as a mobile site, and you can change to one after the free trial period.

• Do I have to use a .mobi domain name or can I use a different one?

  It is recommended to use GetGoMobi with a .mobi domain, to maximize visibility to the user that the site is mobile friendly, but any domain can be used.

• Can GetGoMobi be used with a third level domain?

  Yes.

• I already own a .mobi domain name, can I use it instead of getting another one with GetGoMobi?

  Yes. Your Registrar can easily help you point your .mobi domain to your GetGoMobi site.

• What happens if the expiration date for my domain is different to the one for my GetGoMobi site?

  The GetGoMobi service is dependent on the availability of the domain to reach the site: therefore if the domain expires, the GetGoMobi site cannot be reached. It is necessary to renew the domain, or use another domain to reach the GetGoMobi site to ensure continuity of service.

• If I change the source site to a different site, how quickly is this reflected on the .mobi site?

  The source site content is only used to populate the site the first time. Therefore changing the source site to a different site will have no effect, since the user would have confirmed their settings via the GetGoMobi Setup Assistant. If they have not confirmed their settings, then content from the new source site will be available in minutes.

• Can I delete the domain name but keep GetGoMobi?

  Yes you can, provided you remember to specify another domain for your GetGoMobi site to keep it reachable.

• Do I have to renew GetGoMobi at the same time as the domain?

  No, they do not have to be renewed together, but for the GetGoMobi service to be reachable, the domain has to be current.

Technical Questions

• For GetGoMobi to work, is an existing website required to use as a source site?

  No - if you do have an existing website GetGoMobi helps you keep the information on your mobile site in sync with information on your existing site. But if you don't already have a website, thanks to its easy to use Setup Assistant, you can easily set up your GetGoMobi as a standalone website.

• How soon is a GetGoMobi site live after the service is activated?

  Your GetGoMobi site should be open for business from the moment you click the “Get Started” button in the Setup Assistant. Depending on the domain you are using, there might be a certain delay as a result of how quickly the nameservers´ information propagates on the Internet.

• How quickly are changes made on a source site reflected on the GetGoMobi site?

  When content on a source site is modified, which is linked from the GetGoMobi site, changes are reflected immediately. Changes to content such as phone numbers and addresses are not reflected if they have been confirmed as correct via the Setup Assistant. You will need to modify that information manually in the Setup Assistant which is easy to do.

• What browsers, phone types and cellular services are supported?

• How many users can the GetGoMobi site handle?

  GetGoMobi leverages one of the most advanced technologies to ensure scalability and fast response even in the moments of highest pressure.

• How much content can the mobile site hold/support?

  There is no technical limitation to the amount of content that can be put on the site. However, since the site is for mobile consumption, it is recommended to limit content to only that which is of value to the mobile user.

• Where is it hosted? Will this company also be hosting my desktop site?

  The GetGoMobi service includes hosting of the GetGoMobi site. The business’s desktop website is unaffected by the use of a GetGoMobi site.

• How do custom links work with GetGoMobi? – How many custom links can customers add to their GetGoMobi site?

  Customers can add links to their GetGoMobi site as desired, which can link to content on their own site, or to third party sites.

• Can I use two different telephone numbers (i.e. landline and mobile phone) on the Call Us link?

  Currently, you can only put one number – so it would be recommended to use your main business number. You could provide additional phone numbers within the ‘About Us’ feature.

Can I transfer my GetGoMobi to a different registrar?

• It is not possible to transfer the GetGoMobi service to a different registrar at this time. It is necessary to create a new GetGoMobi subscription with the receiving registrar.

How do I configure my new mobile site?

To configure your new mobile site log in here (log in links for your Mobile Site Editor and your Client Profile are located on every page of our site): https://getgomobi.domainadmin.com/login

• Enter the Username and Password that was sent to you when you purchased the GetGoMobi service, and then click LOGIN

• Domain Admin

  Once you log in to the Domain Admin site, you will see a list of all of your mobile domains. Click the link to the right of the domain that you want to customize.
• (Mac users, we suggest you use Google's free Chrome Browser for best results when working on the mobile builder)
• This section displays the name of your mobile site and the source domain (for most sites it is unnecessary to add a source domain, leave it blank to start).
• To start building, click the Launch Site Builder button.

• Mobile Site Editor/Builder

  The Site Builder is the tool that allows you to specify the contents and appearance of your new mobile site via 4 main tabs (A). The Site Builder has a Help link (C) that will guide you through each step of the design process. The first Design tab is where you set the look and feel of your mobile site (D).

  As you use the Site Builder to make design decisions for your mobile site, the picture on the right hand side (E) changes to show you an approximation of the way your site will look when displayed on a mobile device. You can also click on the link (B) to have a separate window open showing your mobile site as well. (The actual appearance may vary depending on the mobile device on which it is displayed.) You can choose as few or as many Features as you want to display. When you're finished, click Finish.

  Important: If Site Builder is idle for more than 5 minutes, it disappears and any changes that you made since the last time you saved will be lost.

• Help is provided for each Feature and Option via the Help button or a Help link.
  

• Re-Direction code

  Re-direction code is what sends visitors to either your Main web site or your Mobile web site, depending on what device they’re using. So, for example, if someone is accessing your site from a mobile phone, the mobile web site is displayed, and if they’re accessing your site from a desktop computer, the main web site is displayed.

  To generate the code, log into your mobile builder https://getgomobi.domainadmin.com/login and then choose the Tools Tab, and from the Re-direction code language drop-down list, choose the language that you want to use. The code appears in the Code field. You can then copy the code and paste it on your original (source) website.

  For all languages, you need to insert the code between the head tags <head> code here </head>. Javascript is the most popular option and the eaiest to use - it also allows an easy check option for redirtecting or not redirecting for tablets.

  
  

• Domain Name Server (DNS) settings

  If you would like to use a domain name that you have already registered you will need to make changes to the DNS settings. There are two options; consult the table below for your configuration.
